TRACING

searching for missing persons

This service is accessible to anyone who has lost contact, anywhere in the world, with a family member following an armed conflict, a natural disaster, a humanitarian crisis or in the course of migration

If you are looking for someone who is close to you, contact our services on this number:

02/371.31.58 from Monday to Thursday, between 9h00 and 12H30.

The team will deal with your request and suggest a time to meet with you so they can collect all the information necessary to launch a search for the missing person(s).

We can guarantee that:

  • Your information will be handled in strict confidence, and kept within the Red Cross/Red Crescent network
  • The stages of the research will be followed up in a transparent manner

Research can take place anywhere in the world by means of the Red Cross/Red Crescent International network.  If the person is found, and only after receiving his or her consent, the Red Cross will organise an exchange of contact details between the family members.  It will do all it can to facilitate the restoration of family links.

Find out more and discover our tool Trace The Face which is dedicated to searching for people who have disappeared while migrating to and within Europe.

The Red Cross/Red Crescent network can also intervene in the various steps to obtain certain documents such as proof of detention or deportation certificates (Second World War).  Call us to find out more!
